Small-Group College Application Essay Workshops

Specialized Support in a Collaborative Environment

Small-group workshops offer a cost-effective yet still individualized approach. Workshop members learn from and contribute to their peers' writing process, thus developing a skill key to college readiness.

Students are welcome to bring existing writing, but the workshop is geared toward starting from scratch.

Workshops consist of four weekly sessions (2 hours each):

  1.  WINDOWS ONTO YOUR WORLD

  2. THE DANCE — DETAILS & THE TAKEAWAY

  3. DESPERATELY SEEKING STRUCTURE

  4. THE POLISH AND THE PLAN

For high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and gap year students. Available in person (local to Northampton, MA) or on Zoom.

"Miranda worked with both of my daughters on their college essays. She used different strategies for their different skills and styles of writing. Both of them were accepted into the colleges of their choice. Their final essays showed their voice and creativity and helped them stand out. Miranda is a skilled teacher who knows how to guide students on a personal path of improvement, taking them from where they are to where they need to go."
